Transition
We understand that the transition from home to Nursery can be a big one for both children and parents! At Reignhead we have a few things in place to ease this transition.
Nursery Visits - We welcome you and your child to come and visit the nursery and school to get a feel for it and see how we operate. If you would like to view the setting, please email or telephone us to make an appointment and a member of the team will show you around.
Home Visits – Once your child has been allocated a place here, your child’s key workers will come to meet you and your child at home. We will introduce ourselves, bring some activities and information, and we can chat about any questions or concerns you may have in a setting that your child is comfortable in.
Link Visits – At the beginning of the term that your child starts with us, we will arrange a link visit, here at Nursery. You and your child will be given an allocated time slot to come and play together. You can meet some of the other staff, see the setting in full swing and meet some of the children in the setting.
Transition to Reception – The EYFS team work very closely together and children in Nursery meet and get to know the Reception teachers long before September. Reception have getting to know you sessions and get ready clubs as well as parent meeting and information packs to help with a smooth transition.
Please note that a place in our Nursery does not automatically ensure a place in Reception. Applications should be made using this link.
